Where we serve

Eastern Europe: Ukraine, Moldova, Romania

Eastern Europeans greeted communism’s fall with optimism and confidence...however, their expectations were quickly crushed. Millions of people in Eastern Europe face day to day struggles and hardships that were absent even during communist times.

The social network system in these countries has all but collapsed leaving the most vulnerable segments of the population, the very young and the very old, to bear the brunt of this hardship. Despair and frustration is the common mood of the people.

Major problems facing EE today:

  • Political corruption and ineptitude
  • High unemployment rates
  • Catastrophic alcoholism & drug abuse rates
  • Inflation & escalating food costs
  • Systemic corruption throughout the government bureaucracy
  • Organized crime & violence
  • Collapsing social network system
It is into this vortex of despair and hopelessness that HART has committed its energy and resources. HART’s mandate...with love and compassion, is to restore faith in a brighter future, bridging the gap between despair and hope - one person, one family, one community at a time.
